La BiB began in the summer of 2022 as a grassroots effort to increase access to children's books in English, Spanish, and bilingual formats. In January 2025, it became the La BiB Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our mission is to foster a love of reading, improve literacy skills, and promote bilingualism by providing children and families with free access to high-quality books and educational resources in their community.
La BiB provides free access to a curated collection of childrenβs books in English, Spanish, and bilingual formats, serving babies through early readers. We offer storytimes, pop-up events, and take-home resources to support families at home. Through partnerships with community organizations, we extend our reach and promote bilingual literacy. Plans for mobile outreach will soon bring books and programs to more neighborhoods with limited access.
La BiB is powered by a dedicated group of volunteers who share a passion for children's literacy and bilingual education. Our team includes mothers, retirees, and community members from diverse backgrounds who generously give their time and talents to help us grow. We are always welcoming new volunteers to join our efforts and support the development of a reading culture among the growing bilingual community we serve.
By making a contribution to our library, you are investing in knowledge, education, and the future of our community. Thank you for your help!
